Friday's Fabulous: Gypsy Rose Lee

As a burlesque dancer and striptease artist, Gypsy Rose Lee broke all the rules by being viewed as intelligent, classy and witty at the same time.  She was beauty and brains and very much her own creation.  According to CBS: When asked if she ever explained why she chose the name "Gypsy," her son, Erik Lee Preminger, said, "Her favorite line about this is, 'Darling, I told that story so many different ways, I don't remember which one is true.'"

Her bestselling memoir: Gypsy was published in 1957 and became a smash Broadway hit and a film starring Natalie Wood.
