Friday's Fabulous Woman: Osa Johnson

We just got a wonderful book in the store called Women Travelers published by Flammarion.   I ordered it because I fell in love with the cover image and have always had a soft spot for woman who were pioneer travelers to far off distant shores.

The picture on the cover is an American called Osa Johnson who spent nearly 30 years in the first half of the 20th century making travel documentaries with her husband in the South Seas and Africa.   The book features thirty-one women in all.   I try not to keep one of everything I love in the store for me but this book might have to be an exception.
